Family trip to Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada. Michele and I had travelled to Mont Tremblant about 5 years ago and we loved it. Tremblant has one of the nicest villages that we have seen and the people in Canada are so nice. This is Michele, her brother Kevin and me at the Cafeteria at the top of Tremblant Gondola. The views were beautiful but it was bitterly cold on the weekend that we drove up. On saturday night, the temp hit -35° F at night and the temp at noon on sunday at the peak was -8. We skied for about 6 hours on Saturday before stopping for the day because of cold and skied for about 5 hours on Sunday.
The village has about 15 restaurants, 25 stores, a liquor store, a small grocery store, 5 or 6 hotels and a shuttle that will bring you over to the Tremblant Casino. Below left is a picture looking up the main street within the village. You can either walk up the hill to the ski resort and some of the restaurants or they have a small Gondola that will take you from the parking lot to the Ski resort. Picture below right is the square at the top of the village. The hold shows and sometimes concerts in this square.
On Saturday night, we went over to the casino where it was 80s night. Pacman, Mario, Rubik's cubes, break dancing and of course gambling, nice! When we finally came home, we had deer trying to get into the lobby. The story is that one of the lobby staff brings in apples for the deer so they are used to humans and actually let us walk up and pet them. Their fur was very thick and wiry. We have deer in New Jersey but they have much shorter fur. Very cool! The skiing was very good although because it gets pretty cold, the conditions are always hard packed. Tremblant gets close to 250 inches of snow per year. and most of the trails here are intermediate level skiing. As always, we had a great time.
